We will discuss the inflammatory process, its impact on health, lifestyle modifications that decrease inflammation, and the positive impact of even small changes. We'll explore the cultural aspects of Blue Zones-- communities where anti-inflammatory behaviors are the "default," and the intention required to incorporate these practices into our modern lifestyles. This workshop will include journaling, sharing and discussion. Attendees will walk away with an actionable health and wellness goal that is meaningful to them. Join us and bring a friend!

About Amanda Westlake, Founder & Owner of Partners in Pause
I am a nurse practitioner and a certified health and wellness coach. I have years of experience in mental health, and love the empowering, person-centered approach of coaching. I am passionate about viewing lifestyle changes through the anti-inflammatory lens because it encompasses so many aspects of our health. Understanding lifestyle changes as anti-inflammatory reinforces the empiric benefit of behaviors that we intuitively know make us feel better. Combining education, coaching, and client-centered goals empowers people to make changes that are meaningful to them and their health.

Community Herbal Study Group
The Community Herbal Study Group is a monthly gathering to encourage connection, education, and a deeper appreciation for herbalism/plant medicine. This collaborative “knowledge share” creates a space where community members can explore the history, folklore, and medicinal properties of healing herbs in a supportive environment. As a facilitated study group (not a lecture), participants will learn together through the traditions of community and folk herbalism. Whether a seasoned herbalist or just beginning a journey with plants, all levels of experience are welcome.
Folk herbalism, often referred to as the “Wise Woman” tradition, is a community-based practice rooted in the nourishing and restorative properties of plants. It emphasizes a hands-on, ancestral relationship with the local environment, focusing on seasonal wellness and shared wisdom. This approach values the stories, folklore, and historical uses of plants alongside their physical benefits.
Information shared in this study group is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
About the Facilitators: Jessica Coffey & Ashley Weigand
Jessica Coffey is a Community Herbalist dedicated to sharing plant wisdom and ecological stewardship practices to foster wellness and connection within the local community.
Certified Community Herbalist: Completed an 8-month "Whole Living" herbalism and gardening program at Forrest Green Farm (Louisa, VA).
Foundational Training: Completed "Introduction to Herbalism" with Kat Maier at Sacred Plant Traditions (Charlottesville, VA).
Continuing Education: Currently enrolled in the "Herb of the Month" intensive with The Elderberry (Charlottesville, VA).
Field Study: Participating in the "Medicine of Place" botanical tour in Ireland (May 2026), studying culture and native flora with a collective of master herbalists.
Local Collaboration: Peer collaborator with Bon Air Botanicals, assisting in the facilitation of plant medicine-making classes.
Ashley Weigand is a Community Herbalist and Wise Woman who found her way to herbalism through a life-long struggle with menstrual health related dis-ease. This blossomed a passion for aiding others in restoring their relationships with their bodies through an herbal healing approach rooted in the Wise Woman and Folk Traditions. As a Taurus, she has always held an intimate relationship with the Earth and holds the belief that the Earth provides everything we need not just for survival, but also for resourced living. Ashley is currently enrolled in the Deep Roots School of Foraging and Herbal Medicine run by Clinical and Folk Herbalist, Cameron Strouss.

Just Draw with Miles: Launch!
Join Miles for the first Just Draw class on Sunday, May 24th!
This is a new weekly, drop-in offering held each Sunday at 2 pm in the Meditation Hall.
About Just Draw with Miles:
This space is created to explore the sensation of drawing rather than a class to teach technical drawing techniques. The goal is not to work toward a final image (though one might appear), but instead to see what sensations are moving in our bodies and invite our hands to take over and draw while we relax into what we feel.
Each class begins with a quick check-in, allowing some time for each participant to share anything that’s on their mind and do a quick meditation.
Then, we'll begin a 30-minute drawing session where Miles will share a theme or method folks may like to focus on, then move into a stretch of quiet drawing where everyone draws what naturally arises for them. Near the end of class, we’ll leave space for anyone to share their experience who wants to.
Basic art supplies will be provided, as well as tea and light snacks! You’re welcome to bring any other materials you’d like to work with. Donations are welcomed.
Community Breathwork & Sound
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Join Katie Lemmert for an active breathwork meditation that blends guided breath patterns, music, and the healing resonance of sound bowls - designed to help you shift out of your thinking mind and into the wisdom of your body.
Registration recommended but not required.
During this session, you'll discover how breathwork can:
✨ Lower stress and calm anxiety
✨ Release fear, doubt, and anger
✨ Create clarity and alignment for your mind, body, and spirit
✨ Help you process and connect to your consciousness
✨ Improve digestion and immune function
✨ Reduce pain and inflammation in the body
✨ Boost self-love and emotional insight
✨ Support the release of trauma and addictive patterns
There will be space to feel your feelings, whether that means laughing, crying, yelling, or simply being present. Connect with your sacred intelligence. We’ll begin with gentle intention-setting, then move into the active breathwork with a curated playlist of music, and end with a deeply restorative sound bowl shavasana, a healing experience that soothes the nervous system and leaves you feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced. No experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome. The collective energy of the group amplifies the healing, creating a powerful container for transformation. There will be space afterwards to linger together over tea or water if you feel called to stay. She’ll have some options, but please feel free to bring your own.

Dynamic Meditation
Join Katie Lemmert for an active breathwork meditation that blends guided breath patterns, music, and the healing resonance of sound bowls - designed to help you shift out of your thinking mind and into the wisdom of your body.
Registration encouraged but not required.
If you have attended one of Katie’s breathwork classes, you already know she invites you to explore your edges within a safe and intentional container. Dynamic Meditation offers that same permission to go inward while fully engaging the body. If you feel the need to move, release, clear mental clutter, and/or experience catharsis in a supported space, this class is for you.
This one hour practice unfolds in five stages. Eyes remain closed throughout, and a blindfold can deepen your internal focus. The stages include fast chaotic breathing, emotional release, mantra with jumping, stillness, and celebratory movement. Each phase is intentional, building toward a profound sense of witnessing, silence, and inner spaciousness.
Dynamic Meditation is a direct and thorough method for interrupting old patterns held in the body and mind and reconnecting with clarity and aliveness in the present moment.
Bring water for grounding afterward. We will close with time to sit together and share reflections for those who feel called.
Come ready to move, release, and meet yourself honestly.
