Monday Beginner Qi Gong with Jonah Marsh

This class meets every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and is open to anyone wishing to develop a Qigong practice. We'll explore this wonderful aspect of Chinese medicine as a path to increased vitality, health and longevity, as well as spiritual growth. Qigong is an ancient practice which combines graceful movements with abdominal breathing and mindfulness, allowing us to connect with Nature and balance the body's circadian rhythms. Benefits of Qigong include a strengthened immune system, greater balance and flexibility, and emotional balance; often after doing Qigong one will want to smile spontaneously! This class will focus on a set of Qigong called the Eight Brocades, one of the most widely practiced and beneficial forms of Qigong.

Jonah has been studying Chinese internal martial arts and Qigong with Shifu Glen Moore since 2011. He has a deep interest in Taoist philosophy and Chinese medicine and aspires to share these forms of healing with contemporary seekers of all backgrounds.

Like other mindfulness practices at Living Water, this one is offered on a sliding scale, $25-10, because everyone deserves access to wellness and peace. Please pay as you can to support this and other beautiful community practices at this space!

Yoga Nidra and Singing Bowls with Karla Helbert and Annie Peace

Join Karla Helbert and Annie Peace at Living Water Community Center for a Yoga Nidra healing journey and sound bath on Sunday evening at 6:30.

Be guided through deep relaxation in an inspired, reiki infused practice designed to help you tap into Universal healing energy and the support of Mother Earth as you connect with all of the elements and your own true nature of wholeness to help heal whatever may need healing in your body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Karla will lead you through a deeply healing Yoga Nidra while sending reiki to each person in the space. The whole practice will be immersed in the energy of Annie’s Tibetan and crystal bowls as their vibrations flow through all levels of your being.

Yoga Nidra means “Yogic Sleep” but the practice is meant to help us hover between a state of sleep and wakefulness—awareness in a fully relaxed state. During this state, we can more easily “let go,” surrender, to take place. In such a state, healing can take place where healing is needed.

This practice can help all people. including those who are experiencing trauma and grief, access a place where body/mind/spirit can feel more integrated supporting better sleep, rest, relaxation, overall functioning and healing where healing is needed.

Offered on a sliding scale $25-10 as you can, because everyone deserves access to wellness, wholeness, and peace.

Dances of Universal Peace at Living Water
May

Dances of Universal Peace at Living Water

The Dances of Universal Peace(DUP) are moving meditations in which we cultivate the vibration of peace and acceptance within ourselves and in our world through sacred chant, song, and live music from all the world's wisdom traditions. This is not dance as performance; it is a practice of embodying qualities like peace, unconditional love, unity, forgiveness, and joy. There is no audience and there are no performers. We share a deepening experience together through movement and song, celebrating Life's great mystery. We touch the Divine within ourselves and witness it in others.

Each dance is taught step-by-step and phrase-by-phrase and everyone is welcome! Newcomers and experienced dancers alike learn and move together. If you can talk, you can sing these chants and songs from all the world’s wisdom traditions. If you can walk, you can move with us in these dances.

For more information about the Dances of Universal Peace in North America visit www.dancesofuniversalpeacena.org.

Hayat Bain is a certified dance leader and mentor, having danced for 23 years and leading for 15 of those years. She is a flutist and vocalist, sound healer, ordained interfaith minister, holistic healing coach and former nurse practitioner. She convenes and facilitates groups for the purpose of racial healing. Bari Ramsey is Hayat's husband and he convenes the musicians for our circle. He's been dancing for more than 35 years and playing music in dance circles for about the same length of time. Dances of Universal Peace at Living Water
Apr

He's a multiinstrumentalist, composer, poet and prose writer, among other things! Hayat and Bari form the musical duo Hearts of Sound.
